The Nursing Apprenticeship and Pipeline Grant Program is a grant opportunity for Vermont’s health care employers being issued by the Agency of Human Services per Act 183 of 2022 and Act 83 of 2022, Section 72 (as amended by Act 3 of 2023, Section 73). The intent of the Nursing Apprenticeship and Pipeline Grant Program is to: 1) Establish or expand partnerships with Vermont nursing schools to create nursing pipeline or apprenticeship programs to train members of the provider’s existing staff to become higher level nursing students, and 2) Provide funding for employees for tuition and fees at Vermont nursing schools and living costs while attending the program. Grants will be awarded through an application process, and funds will be distributed to successful applicants on a reimbursement basis following the close of the application period.
A total of $9,000,000.00 is available through the program. Successful applicants must disburse grant funds by September 30, 2026 and all program participants must be working in a higher-level nursing role by December 31, 2026.
Complete applications must be submitted to AHS via email to ahs.nurseworkforcegrants@vermont.gov by July 14, 2023 at 11:59PM.
