The Vermont Council on Housing and Homelessness is comprised of 22 members appointed by the Governor and representing state government, housing providers, homeless service providers, and other stakeholder organizations. The responsibilities of the Council include developing and monitoring the periodic review of a tactical action plan. The Tactical Action Plan aims to create a comprehensive strategy for addressing housing issues in Vermont. It includes an inventory of rehabilitation and development resources from both public and private sectors, sets annual targets to ensure housing supply and affordability in all 14 counties, prioritizing those with significant demographic declines. The plan also proposes ways to expedite housing revitalization, measurable interventions to reduce homelessness, and outlines specific annual performance metrics for all key strategies.
