The Board is a citizen's panel consisting of seven members created by the legislature pursuant to 3 V.S.A., §3090. Its duties are to act as a fair hearing board for appeals brought by individuals who are aggrieved by decisions or policies of departments and programs within the Agency of Human Services.
You will find information focused on the needs of professionals who work with people who have experienced the trauma of being sexually abused as children. It is also focused on the needs of professionals who work with youth and adults who exhibit sexually harmful behaviors. You will find resources on current research, best practice and evidence based models to serve these populations.
Prevention of child sexual abuse and sexual violence is possible and does happen. Breaking the silence, learning about and tallking about signs, symptoms, and interrupting the grooming process are all key steps to preventing this crime.
