Training Overview
This training is broken down into 3 parts
Phase One
Participants will be certified as:

MDTS instructors
This training happens at the Police academy in Pittsford. Please check the Vermont Criminal Justice training Councils training calendar for dates and contact me about attending.

This training will take place at the Vermont Correctional academy in Rutland; January 7th– 9th, 2006
You must submit an application to be considered for training as a Non-Lethal Use of Force Instructor.

Target Audience
This training is for correctional staff that will train Use of Force at their local sites and at the Academy.

Selection Criteria
Staff that are interested in this training need to put forward a letter of interests. This letter must include an endorsement of their work site manger for them to become a use of force instructor. It should also include any activities or certification that would make them a good candidate to become a use of force instructors. Also it should state that the person is in good health and is in good physical condition to allow them to do a demanding physical training.
All candidates are agreeing to be become instructors for at least 4 years and to teach at the Academy and to run local program for the Department.
All application will be reviewed by the Use of Force oversight committee to make sure that they are viable applicants and we reserve the right to reject any applicant that we do not think meets the standards for this training.
It should be noted that we are going to train use of force instructors in how to teach, they need to already have a good base understanding in Non-lethal Use of Force before they apply.
All mentor level instructors do not need to reapply; they will be part of the training cadre. All other current instructors need to submit an application for training.
Registration Deadline
All participants must be registered by December 10th 2007. Class size is restricted to the 20 register participants. Application must be signed and Mailed to me at:

Notes

By completing this course you are agreeing to train ACT at your local work site and at the academy. If you are not willing to do this please do not apply.
- All applicants must have the approval of their local training coordinator or local work site manger.
- Class starts at 0830
- Attire is Class room professional or uniform. You will need sneaker and sweats for the Gym. Tee shirts should be plain with no marking or Corrections Tee Shirts.
- Lodging will be provided for anyone that has to travel over 50 miles to the training.
- Lunch will be provided on site. Breakfast and Supper are on your own and will be reimbursed thought the expense account process.
- Mileage will be reimbursed though the expense account process.

- Please let us know if you are traveling over fifty miles and will need lodging.
