Mental health providers will receive timely information to improve services for returning veterans and their families who often experience high rates of emotional distress as a result of their wartime experience. The conference will provide an overview of military culture, outline roles and procedures, promote an open dialogue about treatment options, and highlight effective approaches for working with veterans and their families. A combination of presentations, panels, workshops, and round table discussions are planned. Community mental health providers and other practitioners who work with veterans and their families should plan to attend. Sponsored by Behavioral Health Network of Vermont and the White River Junction VA Medical Center, Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences Service.
