This is a core training required for all Social Workers and Social Services Supervisors. This workshop provides fundamental information for case working with juvenile sex offenders and their families within communities, including case management, supervision, placement and case closure issues.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the behaviors, emotional indicators and dynamics of a youth with sexually offending behaviors
- Know how to work with adolescent family members, victims and the community in preventing relapse
- Know the proper use of psychosexual evaluations and how information from these evaluations should be used to measure risk of re-offense, support case plan development, and supervision
- Understand the basics of the relapse prevention model with the treatment & supervision of the adolescent with sexually offending behaviors
· Understand the legal and practice responsibilities of case management, placement issues, supervising youth who have offended, within the community and case closure issues
