This training is required for all DCF FSD investigators, social workers, supervisors, and district directors.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify what Shaken Baby Syndrome is, (SBS) its history and why it is considered a syndrome
  • Understand how injuries are diagnosed as SBS
  • Walk through the investigation process of an SBS case study
  • Discuss the challenges in court and with SBS cases

The Colchester Business Park in located off Rt. 2 & Rt. 7 in Colchester.

From Burlington and Winooski: Take Rt. 2 & 7 through Winooski towards Colchester. Before Rt. 89, turn right at the light with Burger King and McDonalds on the right hand corners. Drive past Motel 6 and the Fairfield Inn. Turn right – look for signs for the UVM Continuing Education Computer Lab. Turn left into the parking lot. Proceed inside the building, turn right down the hall and the training room is midway down the hall on the left.

 

From Rt. 89 driving North: Take exit 16 Colchester (Costco), turn left at the light and get into the left turn lane. Turn left at the light with Burger King and McDonalds on the left hand corners. Drive past Motel 6 and the Fairfield Inn.
