This training is designed to orient and assist the professionals entering the role of Social Worker, Resource Coordinator, Supervisor or District Director within the first 6 months of hire. This seminar provides an overview of the knowledge, values and skills needed to:
- Learn the principles of Balanced and Restorative Justice (BARJ)
- Review the legal and court process for juvenile services
- Receive an introduction to the Effective Casework Model (ECM)
- Learn skills for engaging in an initial assessment interview using Motivational Interviewing skills
Directions: I-89 Exit 10, to Route 100 South to Waterbury, left at stop sign onto Route 2 East, right at second light at the North Entrance of the State Office Complex. Stanley Hall is the first large brick building on the left.
