Planning / Quality Improvement Unit
The AHS Planning / Quality Improvement Unit supports AHS-wide initiatives focused on continuously improving our services. The unit develops and implements data collection, analysis and feedback mechanisms to routinely inform AHS leadership, managers and staff about our performance and to measure progress towards improving our services.
Specific initiatives of this unit include activities to assess agency-wide staff and customer satisfaction; development of agency-wide client, service and fiscal data; publication of resource materials that track statewide and local progress on outcomes and indicators of well-being; convening the State Team for Families and Children and other groups to help guide Agency progress; and production of the annual Strategic Plan for AHS Transformation.
The Quality Improvement Unit also is responsible for evaluating the state’s progress towards meeting the goals of the new Global Commitment to Health Medicaid waiver demonstration project, and identifying strategic quality improvement initiatives to positively affect the quality of state-provided health care and its costs.
