The Domestic Abuse Education Project

Volunteer for the WRCC. Raise awareness in your community about sexual violence. Be an advocate for survivors and create a social change in the community around rape culture. This event is sponsored by The Women's Rape Crisis Center. Cost is $100 with a reduced rate of $50 for memebers of Victim Advocates. Make checks payable to: Spectrum Youth and Family Services. Registration Deadline is June 1st.

Training Announcement

The Domestic Abuse Education Project (DAEP) will be providing a training for individuals who are interested in learning more about perpetrators and/or survivors of domestic/dating violence. This training is part of the overall training process that prepares individuals to facilitate DAEP and Project Safe Choices (PSC) groups.

Participants will:

1). Examine their own beliefs about violence and learn about the perspectives of DAEP programs.

2). Explore gender socialization in our culture and how it realtes to dating/domestic violence.

3). Gain skills in addressing behavior choices with individuals.

4). Gain skills for facilitating batterer intervention and violence prevention/intervention groups with men and young men.

5). Leave with an understanding of the structure and learning tools of the curricula used by DAEP and PSC.
