New Directions for Barre
New Directions for Barre is a non-profit community coalition that serves the Barre City and Barre Town communities. Our mission is: “Providing leadership and working in partnership with the community to support young people in Barre with a focus on reducing alcohol, tobacco and other drug use among young people and adults. We accomplish our mission though programs that are either research-based, innovative or involving promising practices.” We serve as advisors to the Mayor Youth Council, a group of students dedicated to developing leadership skills and positive community involvement. We also hold teen leadership and anti-racism trainings in the community as well as work in collaboration with other originations and individuals working towards building a healthy community for young people. For more information, to make a donation or to volunteer contact our office at 479-7378 or teenleadaa@verizon.net
