Request for Proposals for Grants and Contracts
Up one levelThe Tobacco Control Program in Vermont is implemented through three departments of state government and their partners, grantees, and contractors. The Department of Health has the largest appropriation for tobacco control and the greatest number of activities. The Department of Education is responsible for the school-based tobacco use prevention program, which they operate through grants to school supervisory districts/unions. The Department of Liquor Control is responsible for training retail clerks to comply with the laws prohibiting tobacco sales to minors and with conducting compliance checks of retailers in accordance with federal Synar requirements. The Tobacco Evaluation & Review Board is charged by the Legislature with responsibility for independent evaluation of the entire program.
